About Me:I'm a graduate student studying International Criminal Law and first started writing for King's News almost 4 years ago! My hobbies include reading, travelling and charity work. I cover many categories but my favourite articles to write are about mysteries of the ancient world, interesting places to visit, the Italian language and animals!
Explore what goes on beneath the chocolaty biscuit soil and discover a world of slippery snakes and scary spiders when make your very own slimy bug cups; be sure they'll be a hit at any Halloween party!
What you’ll need:
Two packs of jelly (usually lime but you can use other flavours if preferred)
An adequate selection of sweets in animal and bug shapes
One pack of Oreo biscuits
How to make it:
Step 1 – Make the jelly by following the instructions on the back of the packet then pour approximately half of the mixture into six small plastic pots.
Step 2 – Add a few bugs from your sweets selection to the plastic pots and then place them in the fridge to set. Leave the remaining jelly on the side, make sure you don’t put it in the fridge! The jelly usually needs to set in the fridge until it goes from a fully liquid form to a more solid one.
Step 3 – Once the jelly has set remove the pots from the fridge and apply more bugs to each of them. Here you can be creative and position some against the sides of the container whilst others can lean out from the top.
Step 4 – Pour the rest of the jelly into the container and place in the fridge once again.
Step 5 – To make the biscuit soil place the Oreos in a plastic bag and, here comes the fun part, smash into tiny pieces by using a rolling pin. Once done tip the crumbs onto a plate.
Step 6 – Once the jelly is ready sprinkle a layer of biscuits over each jelly container and then decorate as you please! If you have more bugs left then place them on the soil creatively, why not add some marshmellows and other treats too? Try decorating each pot ofjelly differently with your friends for fun!
